Why We Exist.

Protecting Pollinators in a Rapidly Changing Florida Honeybees and other pollinators are responsible for nearly one out of every three bites of food we eat. In the United States alone, honeybees contribute an estimated $15–20 billion annually to agricultural production. Yet despite their importance, pollinators are declining at alarming rates.

Across the U.S., beekeepers lose an average of 30–45% of their colonies each year, with some seasons seeing losses exceed 50%. These losses are driven by habitat destruction, pesticide exposure, parasites such as Varroa mites, climate stress, and the lack of diverse flowering plants.

Florida plays a critical role in pollinator health. As one of the nation’s leading honey-producing states and home to over 300 species of native bees, Florida supports crops like citrus, blueberries, squash, cucumbers, and watermelon—many of which rely heavily on pollination.

However, Florida is also one of the fastest-growing states in the country. Each year, nearly 100,000 acres of natural land are lost to development. Wetlands, wildflower corridors, and native habitats are replaced with roads, parking lots, and lawns that provide little to no nourishment for pollinators. Urbanization fragments habitats, making it harder for bees to travel safely between food sources. Extreme weather events such as hurricanes and prolonged heat waves further strain already vulnerable pollinator populations. As a result, Florida beekeepers often report colony losses ranging from 35–60% in challenging years.

This decline is not just an environmental concern—it is a community issue. Pollinator loss directly impacts food availability, crop diversity, and food prices. Healthy pollinator populations help sustain local farms, home gardens, and resilient ecosystems. Protecting pollinators means protecting our food systems, our environment, and future generations. Conservation efforts rooted in education, habitat restoration, and community.

Why We Exist

V’s Beez Inc. exists to bridge the growing gap between development and nature by advocating for pollinator protection, education, and sustainable practices. As Florida continues to grow, pollinators are losing the habitats they depend on to survive.

Our mission is to restore awareness, rebuild pollinator-friendly spaces, and empower individuals, businesses, and communities to become active stewards of the environment. We believe conservation starts locally. Whether through habitat restoration, educational outreach, sponsorship programs, or community partnerships, V’s Beez Inc. focuses on practical, data-driven solutions that create measurable impact. Our work is rooted in the understanding that saving bees is not just about protecting insects—it is about safeguarding food security, supporting local agriculture, and preserving the balance of ecosystems we all rely on.

Through collaboration and education, V’s Beez Inc. strives to ensure that future generations inherit a Florida where pollinators and people can thrive together.
